West Seattle Thriftway has been family owned and locally operated since 1988. We are very appreciative of our customers and know that without them we wouldn't be where we are today. You have allowed us to become more than just a grocery store - over the past 20+ years we have grown to be a part of something great, your community.
Supporting our local schools, charities and organizations not only give them monetary support, it creates strong ties which is the backbone to any successful community. This is one simple reason why we choose to give back, because in the grand scheme of things we're all in this together.

Scrip Program
Support your local schools and get involved!
Supporting education in our area is important to us - by partnering with local area schools and participating in their scrip program we have created another way for the community to raise money for their school with no additional cost!
It's simple, here's how it works:
The school purchases scrip in bulk from us at a discounted rate, and sells to parents or members of the community at face value.
Get involved and purchase scrip to pay for your groceries!
Summer Grilling
Grab lunch for a good cause!
Every spring we break out the grill on Saturday's to cook up some grub for a good cause. In 2011 our fundraising bbqs brought in $9,122 for local organizations and charities like the Susan G. Komen Foundation, WestSide Baby, West Seattle Helpline and The Seattle Humane Society.

Bag Local Hunger
2011 marks the first year of a new fundraising program for Thriftway Stores in Washington. We are partnering with Northwest Harvest, the leading charity in Washington State dedicated to fighting hunger to help in their mission.

Susan G. Komen Fundraiser
Our store, along with other Thriftway's throughout the state of Washington hold a promotional fundraiser to benefit the "Komen for the Cure" Foundation each year. To date as a group we have raised nearly $1 Million for the charity.
Dog Days of Summer Fundraiser
We love our fuzzy, four-legged friends here at Thriftway and we developed this promotional fundraiser to benefit the King County Humane Society for just that reason!
